On Film With Feeling
Exhibit Date: Undetermined
The name ‘On Film With Feeling’ comes from, or rather is, of sorts, an ode to Nick Cave and the motion picture that documents the recording of his album Skeleton Tree. The film is not one that I have seen, but I do very much like Nick Cave, and I do very much like the name.
A mixed-media photographic and print project that involves the Hasselblad Xpan and superimposed illustrations of Haida Supernaturals. The project aims to illustrate the fluidity between two worlds: the land and waterscapes of Haida Gwaii captured on film, and that of the Haida supernatural beings overlaid.
This project will result in five finished prints, framed and signed by Alyson Bell, the illustrator of the graphic piece, and me, the photographer and director of the project. The framed prints will be gifted to The Haida Gwaii Museum at Ḵay ‘Llnagaay.
